In order to improve security while accessing Atlassian Cloud, users should use Multi-Factor Authentication. Multi-Factor authentication adds an extra layer around the traditional username and password login, thus preventing unwanted access by threat actors to your Atlassian instance. With Acceptto Multi-Factor Authentication adding that extra layer is simples and cost-effective.
This guide will walkthrough the following steps:
- Configure the Atlassian Cloud instance to use Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Scan a QR code generated by Atlassian with the Acceptto Mobile Application.
- Login to Atlassian using Multi-Factor Authentication.
Configure Account Settings
- Select Manage your account
- Select Two-step verification
Scan the QR code with the Acceptto Mobile Application.
On the next page, Atlassian Cloud will prompt the user to install a mobile app. You can skip that step if you already have the Acceptto Mobile App installed.
Proceed to the next page to scan a QR code selecting “Yes, ready to scan code”.
Open the Acceptto Mobile Application and select the 3rd icon on the bottom menu to Scan QR Code.
Once the QR code is scanned, you will need to provide a One-Time-Password (OTP) code to the Atlassian Cloud web page to authenticate.
After the process is completed, all logins will require username, password and an OTP code.
